The Lagos State Magistrate court has finally released Nollywood actor, Baba Ijesha on bail.

reported that the comic actor was spotted on his way to court for another hearing during the early hours of today, the 24th of June.

According to reports, Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo of the Ikeja Special Offences Court granted the actor bail in the sum of two million naira and two sureties.

One of the sureties the judge said must be a blood relative of the defendant and the other, a lawyer.

Ijesha was arrested and detained by the Lagos state police after being alleged to have sexually molested a minor at 7 and 14.

He was later granted bail on May 17 after spending about 25 days in police detention but has remained in police custody despite the bail.

At the first court hearing, Baba Ijesha was denied bail and according to the judge, P.E Nwaka, the matter is beyond its jurisdiction. The judge also explained that the case has already been filed before the high court.

For those that do not know, Baba IIjesha is facing a six-count charge bordering on the indecent treatment of a child, sexual assault, attempted sexual assault by penetration and sexual assault by penetration.
