In May 2021, Mercy Johnson’s cooking show ‘Mercy’s Menu’ returned for its second season over a year after its first season debut. Since the beginning of season 2, the show has hosted some Nigerian celebrities like Taooma, Mary Rhemmy Njoku, and Mr. Macaroni.
However, in today’s episode (Season 2 Episode 4), Mercy Johnson invited popular actress, Funke Akindele over to prepare French Toast with Banana & Strawberry Smoothie. While the show was going on, Funke Akindele took the privilege to shower praises on Mercy Johnson hardworking traits, she said
“You’re a special mother, you’re a sweetheart, you’re a good mother, you have time for your kids and I respect you so much for that. You inspire me to be a better mother seeing you playing and running around with your kids. You left everything for them and your family, and I can’t wait for you to continue breaking the box office”
These words of admiration brought tears to Mercy Johnson’s eyes.
Reacting to the short clip posted by Mercy Johnson on her Instagram account, fans and some notable celebrities took the comment section to praise the actresses. Actress, Nancy Isime wrote — “overall best mum”, Toyin Abraham wrote — “Ohh! Baby don’t cry, you are beautiful Mercy”.
