Akintola Akin Lewis is one of the most popular actors in the yoruba movie industry. He is currently 64 years old and known for his excellent delivery of the script.
Akin Lewis has been in the entertainment industry for over two decades now, still counting.
The handsome born Nigeria actor began to pursue his acting career at the age of 12. He joined a drama group and was under the mentorship of a renowned Nigerian writer and dramatist, Professor Bode Sowande in the year 1973.
He was however seen in different drama groups during his secondary school days
Akintola was raised in Lagos state but was born in Ibadan where he had both his primary school and secondary school education and as well as obtaining his first leaving school certificate and secondary school certificate of education (SSCE) respectively, he then proceeded to further his education. Akin Lewis graduated from the University of Ife, the now Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) in Osun State.
Having carved a good niche in the industry, the actor has been seen on the screen featuring in both yoruba and English movies.
The Nigeria actor, director, producer, entrepreneur celebrate his birthday on the 7th of April.
Akin Lewis is the only son of his parents who were civil servants.
After his education, however, actor Lewis got a scholarship to do his Masters in Dramatic Arts at the University in Sophia, Bulgaria.

The talented-born actor has been featured in more than 100 Nigeria movies which include; Tinsel, Heroes, Zeroes, Mind-Bending, Were Alaso, Borokini, Inquest, Dream on Monkey Mountains, The Night Before,Wedlock of the Gods, Return from the Dead, Love Is War, A Soldier’s Love,Moliere, Apere, and many other.
He is mostly seen in yoruba movies and sometimes in English speaking Nigeria movies. Akin Lewis came into the limelight after he featured in his first 5 movies which include; “Return from the Dead” “Madam Dearest” “Love Is War”, “King of Boys”, and many others.
Before joining the entertainment industry, Akin Lewis had worked in the corporate environment for more than 20 years attaining the position of Senior Executive Director. Not only that, but the actor had also worked for different corporate institutions and company which include NTA, Globacom, and the then Owena Bank. He is currently the Rector of Graig-Phillips College of Technology, a film Institute at Shonibare Estate, Maryland, Lagos.
However, the gifted actor dives into the movie industry fully in 1973.
He became more famous when he featured in the movie title “Why Worry (The Adventures of S.K Adio the Barber)”, a popular movie in the 1980s. “Why Worry (The Adventures of S.K Adio the Barber)” is a comedy home video that aired on NTA Ibadan in 1980.
Akin Lewis, however, got married to the love of his life and the union produced wonderful children, although, he got married twice but failed, he then finally settles down with the third one which eventually works out well for him.

He is currently ranked among the top highest-paid yoruba actor in the industry. He is also very influential in the industry and ranked among the top richest actor in Nigeria.
He has also got several nominations and as well won the Best Overall Student at the University of Ife, 1979, Best Actor Award, 1982, Best Actor – The Audio Visual Awards (TAVA), 2010, Award of Excellence – Community Development Committee (CDC), 2017, Yoruba Movie Personality of the Year (Male) – City People Movie Award for, 2018, and many others.
