Mummy Wa is a fictitious character in Mr Macaroni’s comedy skit. Her real name is Kemi IKuseemu. She is a multi talented personality. She is a content creator, actress and an online comedian.
Kemi was born in 1996 at Orile Iganmu in Lagos State. She is one of the three children in a family. She had her elementary education at Orile Iganmu and proceeded to Queens College Yaba for her secondary school education. Kemi obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Bells University Ogun State and her second degree in Management from Lagos State University. She is also a qualified-member of Institute of Chartered Accountant of Nigeria (ICAN).
Despite her parents’ disapproval, ‘Mummy Wa’ decided to pursue a career in the Nigerian entertainment industry. She began her acting career right from her church and her secondary school respectively.
Her journey of professionalism in acting was greatly influenced by Emem Isong’s Royal Arts Academy in Lagos where she met veteran actors like Sukanmi Adebayo, Opeyemi Dada among others who eventually prepared her for acting journey.
She eventually rose to fame in 2018 after her appearance in Mr Macaroni’s comedy skit where she played the role of ‘Mummy Wa’ the fictitious wife of Mr Macaroni. However, during her interview with Olajide Samuel a correspondent of Punch newspaper, Kemz Mama explained what gave birth to the name ‘Mummy Wa’. Here is what she said:
“What led to the creation of the character, ‘Mummy Wa’?
Dabo Adebayo aka Mr Macaroni, actually created the character, ‘Mummy Wa’. One day, he saw me acting in a skit of mine, and he called me to be part of his skit the next day. He asked me to play the role of his wife. That was how the character was born”.
Her success story was greatly influenced by her boss Debo Adedayo(Mr Macaroni) who brought her out of a particular stage of life and gave her a character that really changed her story. She is one of the elegant female artists with a promising future.
