However, in reaction to this, the Edo – born film maker in an interview alongside Adeoti, begged Nigerians to stop seeing her marriage in bad light as she would not be the first person to become a second wife. She also noted that it is love and not money that led to her marriage to Adeoti.
Meanwhile, Adeoti’s first wife, Funsho Adeoti popularly known as Asiwaju couture has officially reacted to Mercy’s new marriage to Adeoti whom she addressed as a soon to be ex-husband. According to Funso, her post was to clear the air on the recent interview granted by Adeoti which has since become a trending video.

Moreover, there were words, Funsho used in her post, that will in no time at all, change the narrative of the whole story. See details below:
1. My soon “to be” ex husband
In her post, Asiwaju Couture addressed Mr Adeoti as her soon to be ex husband. In fact, she highlighted the words ‘to be’ to show its importance. As it seems, these words reveal the certainty of a divorce proceeding in the near future.
Thus, Mercy Aigbe may no longer be addressed as a second wife but the first wife, after Funsho and Adeoti are officially divorced.
2. I Introduced you to Kazim as my friend
This statement was directly made to Mercy Aigbe, whom Funsho said they were friends but Mercy never admitted. The effect of this statement in the drama is that it adds a gleam of betrayal in it.

According to Funso, she personally called and invited Mercy to her husband’s 40th surprise birthday party, where she introduced the two to each other. But instead of being a better friend, she went ahead to pay her back by marrying him.
3. I did not and will never settle to have a second wife in my marriage to him
According to Asiwaju couture, Mr Adeoti was painting a non existing peaceful marriage between the both of them. In fact, Funsho noted this, contrary to what the film marketer had said about her agreeing to the second marriage. This statement is seen in the first paragraph and complicates the issue even more.
