Nigerian singer and songwriter, Charles Chukwuemeka Oputa, popularly known as Charly Boy, has sparked reactions on his social media page with an old photo of the APC presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, that he shared.
In the post he made on his verified Twitter handle, he said that back in the days, Tinubu’s nickname used to be “Bobo Chicago.”
The 72-year-old singer asked if people could recognize the person in the photo, and of course, it wasn’t difficult to know that it was Bola Tinubu.
In the caption, he wrote – “Recognize him? His nickname then was “Bobo Chicago.” Who is he?”
In the photo, Tinubu was dressed in a white suit, and carried a thick Afro.
Tinubu had spent a number of years in Chicago. In the report which was made by Peoples Gazette, Tinubu told INEC that he attended the Chicago State University, and obtained a degree in Business and Administration in 1979. Although he reportedly said that his certificates were stolen by unknown persons during the military junta of the 1960s.
Tinubu has been a topic of major discussions since he emerged as the APC flag bearer at the party’s presidential primary election a few weeks ago, especially on issues surrounding his age and certificates.
The former Lagos State Governor travelled to Paris, France, yesterday. In the report which was made by Daily Post, his media aide said that he travelled to Paris to hold some important meetings, and that he will be back in the country in a few days. Although the trip had attracted mixed reactions on social media when it was announced.
