Iya Rainbow is among the actresses who have contributed so much to the Nigerian movie industry, that is why she will always have a place in the hearts of several movie lovers across the country.
Iya Rainbow was born on the 16th of October, 1942 in Ijebu Ode, Ogun State. She is the daughter of prophet Jacob Ifemade and Mrs. Ifemade. However, a lot of people don’t know that Iya Rainbow worked as a certified nurse for 20 years before joining her late husband’s theatre group.
Sadly after the death of her husband, she decided to venture fully into her acting career. Ever since then, Iya Rainbow has starred in more than 100 movies which include “Apaadi,” “Eru,” and “Aje ni Iya mi,” “Yemi My Lover,” and several others. She has been in the movie industry for several decades, and has won the love of several Yoruba movie lovers.
Iya Rainbow has earned some notable awards and nominations which proves how productive she has become in the movie industry. She is now 79 years old and still accepts movie roles when they are offered to her.
However, you should know that after the demise of her husband, Augustine Ayanfemi Philips, in 1986, Iya Rainbow decided not to remarry but rather focus on taking care of her lovely children.
